Night out: Amsterdam when the lights come on, in the right company

Amsterdam at night is not one scene but a dozen. Leidseplein brings theatres and packed bars, Rembrandtplein its neon and late cafés, De Pijp its cocktail spots, Noord its warehouse venues across the water. Doing it alone means guessing. Doing it with a companion who actually enjoys the city's nightlife means a better route, better conversation and someone to dance with.

A night out can be as structured or as spontaneous as you like: a comedy show and a nightcap, or a string of cocktail bars that ends wherever the music is good. It starts from €180 for the first hour, and a longer night is priced on request, with the details in writing on WhatsApp before you step out.

Our first names

Matched to night out from what is on their profiles. Anyone on the roster can take this booking, these are the women we put forward first.

Ask who is free

Name one of them, or tell us the plan and let us choose. A straight answer either way.

02 Night out

Building your night

Tell us what you enjoy and we will match you with someone who shares it. Cocktails? Some of our companions can talk through a menu of spirits and bitters with real enthusiasm. House music? At least one knows the scene inside out. Comedy? English-language stand-up has a permanent home in the city, and a few companions are genuine fans. Most nights follow a loose shape: a drink to start, dinner or small plates, then the main event and a last stop close to your hotel.

Before you book

  • Early: a drink with a view, on a rooftop or by the water.
  • Main event: a show, live music, a comedy club or dancing.
  • Late: a nightcap near your hotel, or one more bar if the night insists.

03 Night out

The city's nightlife, district by district

In Amsterdam Centrum, Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein are the classic late-night squares, ringed by bars, clubs and theatres, with calmer canal-side cafés only a few streets away. De Pijp is where locals go for cocktails and small, crowded bars. West has the Westergas, with events and late venues in old industrial buildings, and Noord answers with warehouse spaces and waterfront terraces reached by ferry. A good night out can cross two or three of these, and your companion knows the shortcuts.

04 Night out

Seasons of the night

Amsterdam nightlife follows the calendar. Summer moves everything outdoors, to rooftop bars, waterfront terraces in Noord and festivals in the parks, with daylight lingering until well after ten. Autumn brings Amsterdam Dance Event, when clubs and concert halls across the city stay busy through the night. Winter pulls the evening indoors, into jazz cellars, candlelit cocktail bars and brown cafés with steamed-up windows. Tell us when you are visiting and your companion will suggest the kind of night the season does best.

05 Night out

Companions who love a night out

Jasmin is flirtatious, curious and bubbly, a salsa dancer and mixology fan who will find the dance floor and the best drink on the menu before you have checked your coat. Molly, playful and confident with a warm streak, knows her house music and her craft cocktails, and brings a bold, glamorous style to any bar.

Stacy is bold and spontaneous, into street photography and stand-up comedy, the ideal partner for a stand-up show and a late drink afterwards. Roxi is playful and vivacious, a boxing fitness and surfing fan with energy to spare long after midnight. You will find all four among our companions aged 22 to 25.

06 Night out

Getting around at night

Amsterdam is compact, but its nights have their own logistics. Trams thin out after midnight, night buses take over, and taxis around the busiest squares can be slow at closing time. The ferry to Noord behind Centraal Station keeps sailing through the night, just less often in the small hours. Your companion is used to all of this, so trust her judgement on when to walk and when to take a taxi. Keep your phone charged and your hotel address handy for the end of the night.

07 Night out

Staying discreet in a busy city

A busy bar is the most anonymous place in Amsterdam. Nobody notices one more couple at the counter or on the dance floor. Your companion dresses for the venues you plan to visit and follows your lead on how you introduce each other. If you meet friends or colleagues along the way, she is simply your date. Should the plan shift, perhaps to a dinner date first or a later finish, message us and we confirm it before it happens.

08 Questions

Night out, answered

01Is there a dress code for Amsterdam nightlife?

Smart casual works almost everywhere in Amsterdam, including most clubs. If you plan a dressier venue, tell us and your companion will match it.

02Can the night end at my hotel?

Yes, that is easy to arrange. Tell us when you book, or message during the night, and we confirm the timing on WhatsApp.

03How many hours does a good night out need?

Three to four hours leaves time for a first drink, a show or some music and a nightcap. Your first hour is from €180; every hour after that is priced individually and agreed on WhatsApp.

04Do you book tables or tickets?

No, venues and tickets are booked by you. We can tell you which districts suit the kind of night you are planning.
